history

Lichtenberg was first mentioned on June 12, 1242. At that time, Duke Boleslaw II of Silesia on the Zobten certified the Scholtisei von Lichtenberg to a Hermann . He granted him the same rights as Ulrich von Hohenbüchen had previously had. Lichtenberg was founded on the site of the three former Polish villages Gozszykowicz, Cvcharowicz and Pozocowiz as a German settlement. In 1290, Duke Heinrich V confirmed the possession of Lichtenberg to Konrad Winher, a citizen of Breslau, and at the same time gave him the church patronage . In 1343 it was acquired as "Lichtenbergk" by the city of Grottkau, with whom it came to the clerical principality of Neisse in 1344 . In 1376 the knight Hentschil Crecznik sold Lichtenberg for 1600 marks to the knight Jaraczius von Pogarell , who was a nephew of Bishop Preczlaw von Pogarell . In 1425 Lichtenbergk consisted of 40 hooves ; a scholtisei was not mentioned at the time. In 1579 the Wroclaw Cathedral Chapter ruled the village.

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Lichtenberg fell with most of the Principality of Neisse to Prussia .

In 1810 the principality of Neisse was secularized . After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community of Lichtenberg belonged to the district of Grottkau in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a Catholic church, a Catholic school, a brewery, a distillery, two inns and 140 other houses in the village. In the same year, 842 people lived in Lichtenberg, nine of them Protestants. In 1855, 868 people lived in Lichtenberg. In 1865 there were 35 farmers, 25 gardeners , 27 cottagers and two half-hunters in the village . The school was attended by 136 children in the same year. In 1874 the district of Lichtenberg was founded, which consisted of the rural communities of Herzogswalde, Lichtenberg and Woisselsdorf and the estate districts of Herzogswalde and Herzogswalde (Sorgau). In 1885 Lichtenberg had 863 inhabitants.

In 1933 there were 776 people in Lichtenberg and 784 in 1939. Until the end of the war in 1945, the place belonged to the district of Grottkau .

As a result of the Second World War, Lichtenberg fell under Polish administration in 1945, like most of Silesia . Subsequently, the place was renamed Kolnica and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 it was incorporated into the Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the newly founded Powiat Brzeski ( Brieg district ).
