Stephan Haukohl (born June 27, 1993 in Stuttgart ) is a German basketball player .
Career
Haukohl grew up in Munich and began playing basketball at TSV Forstenried and SV Germering. In 2009 he went to Jena to the GuthsMuths-Sportgymnasium and played for the junior team of the second division Science City Jena in the youth basketball league (NBBL). Together with the Voigtmann brothers Johannes and Georg , they won the main round division of the NBBL twice (2011 and 2012), but missed the top four in the play-offs .
In the senior division, Haukohl first played in the regional league team of TuS Jena, the reserve of the second division, before he played a class higher in the ProB in two missions with the promoted Oettinger Rockets from Gotha in the 2010/11 season . In a total of three missions, Haukohl came in the ProA 2011/12 again one class higher but for Science City. After the end of the season, in addition to Johannes Voigtmann, Haukohl left the Jena club and switched to the league competitor in Ehingen , who also had excellent youth work and had won four of six NBBL championships by 2012 in cooperation with the Urspring School . With his former rivals from the NBBL, Haukohl reached the first play-off qualification in the ProA for promotion to the top division in the ProA 2012/13, tied with his former club from Jena. In the first play-off round, however, they lost without their own victory against the main round first SC Rasta Vechta , who later rose to the basketball league as champions . In the following season, ProA 2013/14 , Haukohl was named Youngster of the Month in the league in both October 2013 and April 2014 and finally also received the award as Youngster of the Year when the Ehinger under coach Ralph Junge , who was also the coach of the Year was chosen as the main round third in the play-offs. In the first play-off round, despite the home advantage in the first game, they were eliminated in just under five games against the former first division club from Nuremberg , who competes with their professional first team under the sponsor name rent4office . However, the Nuremberg team failed in the following championship round even on promotion to the top division and signed coach Junge for the following season, who also brought Stephan Haukohl with him.
Haukohl drew attention to himself again in 2014/2015 with good performances in the Nuremberg jersey and switched to the Beko BBL after the end of the season . He signed a contract with Mitteldeutscher BC from Weißenfels until summer 2016. After the subsequent relegation from the 1st Bundesliga, he returned to the ProA champion in Jena and continued to play first-class there. In mid-June 2017, Jena's Bundesliga competitor BG Göttingen announced Haukohl's commitment. In the colors of the "violets" he made 65 Bundesliga appearances in two years, in the 2017/18 season he scored an average of 5.2 and 2018/19 4.1 points per match. In mid-July 2019 he returned to the second division for the Nürnberg Falcons, for which he scored 11.2 points on average in 28 games. After the end of the 2019/20 season , his former club and league rival Science City Jena announced the winger's commitment.
National team
Haukohl won third place with the U-17 junior national team at the Albert Schweitzer tournament in 2010 and eleventh place at the European championship in 2011 with the U-18 team . In the same year he took part in the first U-18 3 × 3 basketball world championship for Germany and achieved a 17th place. With the German U-20 national team , he finished eleventh at the 2013 European Championships. Haukohl was part of the German A2 national team from 2014 to 2017. At the Universiade 2015 he won silver with the team, the best placement of a German team at this tournament to date.
