Sopra Steria Group SA is a European management and technology consultancy headquartered in Annecy , France , which was created in September 2014 from the merger of the two companies Sopra Group SA and Groupe Steria SCA.

The headquarters of the German subsidiary is in Hamburg .

history

The French Sopra Group was founded in 1968 by Pierre Pasquier, François Odin and Leo Gantelet. The French systems integrator Steria was founded in 1969 by Jean Carteron. In 2005, the German management consultancy Mummert Consulting AG and its subsidiary Mummert ISS GmbH were taken over by Steria. From 2015 to 2017 the company operated as Sopra Steria GmbH and its subsidiary ISS Software GmbH. The company has been operating as Sopra Steria SE since April 2018. On October 1, 2015, the Sopra Group also took over the Airbus subsidiary CIMPA GmbH .

The Sopra Steria Group is represented in 25 countries and employs a total of 46,245 people (as of the end of 2019). The group, headquartered in Paris , has been listed on the Paris Euronext Stock Exchange since 1990 .

In Germany, Steria Mummert Consulting emerged in 2005 from the takeover of Mummert Consulting AG (formerly Mummert + Partner) by the French Steria Group . With the merger of Sopra and Steria in September 2014, it became Sopra Steria GmbH and is part of the Sopra Steria Group. In October 2017, the legal form was changed to Sopra Steria AG. In April 2018, the legal form was converted into a European stock corporation (Sopra Steria SE).

In addition to the German headquarters in Hamburg, there are other locations in Germany : Frankfurt , Munich , Cologne , Berlin , Schrobenhausen and Leipzig .

In Germany around 2,800 employees work for the Sopra Steria Group and its subsidiaries.
