In the Franco-Prussian War , during the siege of Paris (1870–1871) on September 30, 1870, a sortie attempted by the troops trapped in Paris. In the battle at Chevilly , which was also carried out in the area of ​​Thiais, the French units were stopped and repulsed. The parishes of Chevilly and Thiais were largely destroyed in these fighting.
