Tomáš Mojžíš (born May 2, 1982 in Pardubice , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who was last under contract with Bílí Tygři Liberec from the Czech extra league and was loaned to the league rivals HC Pardubice .

Career

Tomáš Mojžíš began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Pardubice , for which he participated in the U20 extra league in the 1999/2000 season. The defender then spent three years in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League for the Moose Jaw Warriors and Seattle Thunderbirds . During this period he also completed two games in the 2001/02 season in the first division , the second Czech division, for HC Prostějov .

After returning to North America Mojžíš played from 2003 to 2006 for the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League . For their cooperation partner, the Vancouver Canucks , he also came in the 2005/06 season on seven missions in the National Hockey League , in which he gave a template. During this season, the Czech was transferred to the St. Louis Blues , for which he played six more times in the NHL in the 2006/07 season . However, he was almost exclusively on the ice for their farm team Peoria Rivermen in the AHL.

The 2007/08 season Mojžíš spent at HK Sibir Novosibirsk in the Russian Super League . He then moved to the Minnesota Wild , but could not prevail again in the NHL and played the majority of the games for their AHL farm team Houston Eros . The signature in North America in connection with the founding of the Continental Hockey League and an opaque transfer agreement between the two leagues was temporarily blocked by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF from July 2008 with five other players . In the 2009/10 season the Czech national player was under contract with MODO Hockey Örnsköldsvik in the Swedish Elitserien .

In July 2010 Mojžíš was signed by HK Dinamo Minsk from the KHL and completed 42 games for the club. In August 2011 he received a contract with TPS Turku from the Finnish SM-liiga .

In May 2012 Mojžíš was signed by HC Lev Prague from the KHL and was also used for HC Sparta Prague in the Extraliga until January 2013 , before he was transferred to HC Slovan Bratislava . For Slovan, he completed 65 KHL games before his contract expired after the 2013/14 season. In September 2014 he received a short-term contract with HC Pardubice before returning to TPS in October 2014. After a year at the traditional Finnish club, the defender returned to his home country, where he signed a three-year contract with Bílí Tygři Liberec in September 2015 . Mojžíš became Czech champion with Liberec in 2016 , followed by the runner-up the following year. He spent the last year of his contract on loan from league rivals in Pardubice.

For the Czech Republic Mojžíš took part in the junior division of the U18 World Junior Championship in 2000 and the U20 World Junior Championship in 2002 .
