Tony Jacquot
Antoine Ernest "Tony" Jacquot (born May 4, 1919 in Pessac , Gironde , † February 3, 2007 in Paris ) was a French actor .
Life
Jacquot studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris . He was a student of Louis Jouvet. From 1946 he was director of the Comédie-Française .
Famous theater pieces in which Jacquot participated were the ridiculous precieuses of Molière (1949, with Georges Chamarat and Roland-Manuel , at the Comédie-Française ), Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare (1952, with André Falcon and Renée Faure at Odéon - Théâtre de l'Europe ), Hibernatus by Jean Bernard-Luc (1957, with Jean Parédès and François Guérin at the Théâtre de l'Athénée) and Les Fausses Confidences by Pierre Carlet de Marivaux (1965, with Jean Piat and Jacques Toja at the Théâtre de la Villa des Arènes in Nice ).
Jasquot played in nine French films , from Entrée des artistes by Marc Allégret ( 1938 , with Claude Dauphin and Louis Jouvet ) to Une femme, un jour ... by Léonard Keigel ( 1977 , with Caroline Cellier and Mélane Brevan). He appeared in the film Retirement ( 1939 , with Louis Jouvet and Michel Simon ) by Julien Duvivier . This director was able to convince him again to star in Don Camillo's Return ( 1953 , with Fernandel and Gino Cervi ) and The Mutton with the Five Legs by Henri Verneuil ( 1954 , with Fernandel and Édouard Delmont).
Ultimately, Tony Jacquot worked on four French television films that aired between 1966 and 1981. There were also appearances in six television series that ran between 1964 and 1981; including Le Théâtre de la jeunesse (one episode, 1966) and Au théâtre ce soir (one episode, 1973).
