The 7th stage of the Tour de France 2017 took place on July 7th 2017. It led over 213.5 kilometers from Troyes to Nuits-Saint-Georges . There was an intermediate sprint in Chanceaux after 108 kilometers and a mountain classification in the 4th category.
Marcel Kittel won his third stage in the mass sprint ahead of Edvald Boasson Hagen . The German was still 150 meters from the finish line on the Norwegian’s rear wheel when a gap opened up and he crossed the finish line with a lead of just six millimeters. Before that, the breakaway group of the day formed shortly after the start with Dylan van Baarle , Manuele Mori , Maxime Bouet and Yohann Gène was overtaken just six kilometers from the finish. Chris Froome defended his yellow jersey .
