geography
The city of Bielefeld is not further subdivided into administrative or political units below the ten districts . Districts in Bielefeld are therefore only informal sub-areas, the delimitation of which mostly relates to the area of an old community. For statistical purposes, however, Bielefeld is divided into 72 statistical districts. The informal district of Hoberge-Uerentrup is roughly defined today by the statistical district 39 Hoberge-Uerentrup / Wolfskuhle.
Hoberge-Uerentrup is located in the west of Bielefeld in a longitudinal valley of the Teutoburg Forest and borders the districts of Kirchdornberg and Großdornberg from the Dornberg district as well as the Schildesche , Gadderbaum and Brackwede districts . In addition, Hoberge-Uerentrup borders in the south on the municipality of Steinhagen from the Gütersloh district . The ridge of the Teutoburg Forest in Hoberge-Uerentrup reaches heights of up to 300 m . Running waters are the Johannisbach , the Twellbach and the Paderbach.
history
Hoberge was a medieval Bauer shaft while Uerentrup (also Urentrup or Uhrendorf ) a large farm was that the Klostermarienberg field belonged. Ecclesiastically, the Hoberge farmers and the Uerentrup estate have always been part of the Dornberg parish . Administratively, the area of the parish of Dornberg belonged to the Vogtei Brackwede and from around the beginning of the 18th century to the Vogtei Werther in the county of Ravensberg .
From 1807 Hoberge and Uerentrup initially belonged to the canton of Werther in the Bielefeld district of the Kingdom of Westphalia . In 1811 the administrative structure changed because the north of the Bielefeld district was annexed by France . Hoberge and Uerentrup remained in the Kingdom of Westphalia and now belonged to the canton of Schildesche. After the Napoleonic era , Hoberge and Uerentrup belonged to the Bielefeld district since 1816 . As part of the introduction of the new Westphalian rural community order , the Dornberg office was established in 1843 and the Hoberge-Uerentrup community was constituted in 1845.
On October 1, 1930, an area in the east of the community with the Wolfskuhle settlement was incorporated into the city of Bielefeld.
Due to the law on the reorganization of the Bielefeld area , the larger part of the municipality of Hoberge-Uerentrup north of the ridge of the Teutoburg Forest was incorporated into Bielefeld on January 1, 1973 and has been part of the Dornberg district since then. The smaller part, south of the main ridge of the Teutoburg Forest, was incorporated into the Steinhagen community in accordance with Section 3 of the Bielefeld Act. The Wolfskuhle area became part of the Dornberg district.
