Administrative division of Irkutsk Oblast
The Irkutsk Oblast in the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Federation is divided into 33 Rajons and 9 urban districts . A total of 68 urban and 356 rural communities are subordinate to the Rajons (status: 2010).
Up to December 31, 2007, six of the Rajons formed an independent federal subject , the Ust-Ordynsk Buryat Autonomous Okrug . Since their connection to the Irkutsk Oblast, these territories have had a special status under this name within the Oblast (highlighted in gray in the table).
