Warnowo [ varˈnɔvɔ ] ( German  Warnold , Gut ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Ruciane-Nida ( urban and rural community Rudczanny / Niedersee - Nieden ) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Geographical location

28 kilometers southeast of the former district town of Sensburg ( Polish Mrągowo ) and 15 kilometers northwest of the current district metropolis Pisz ( German  Johannisburg ) is the former Warnowo estate , 250 meters west of the Warnoldsee (Polish Jezioro Warnołty ). Two kilometers to the west is today Kończewo called forester Warnold .

history

In 1874 the estate village Warnold in was District Guszianka (1938 to 1945 District Guschienen , Polish Guzianka ) incorporated, which existed until 1945 and to Sensburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. The manor district, which had a total of 20 inhabitants in 1910, was taken over on September 30, 1929 in the rural community Piasken - Onufrigowen , which was renamed Rehfelde on the same date . As a result of the war, Gut Warnold came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of the name "Warnowo". Today it is part of the urban and rural community Ruciane-Nida (Rudczanny / Niedersee - Nieden) , now moved from the Sensburg district to the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), until 1998 in the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship.

Religions

Until 1945 Gut Warnold was parish in the Protestant village church Groß Weissuhnen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of Sensburg in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Warnowo belongs to the Wejsuny village church in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland and the Ruciane-Nida parish in the Ełk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .

The place can be reached on secondary roads that lead from Kończewo (Warnold Forestry) or as a junction from the Wejsuny - Wierzba ( German  Weissuhnen – Wiersba ) road directly into the village.
