Thomas L. Moore

Thomas Love Moore (born 1789 in Charles Town , Jefferson County , Virginia , †  1862 in Warrenton , Virginia) was an American politician . Between 1820 and 1823 he represented the state of Virginia in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Born in what is now West Virginia , Thomas Moore enjoyed a good elementary school education. After studying law and being admitted to the bar, he began to work in his new profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Democratic Republican Party .

After the resignation of Congressman George Strother , Moore was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC when he was due for the tenth seat of Virginia , where he took up his new mandate on November 13, 1820. After being re-elected, he could remain in Congress until March 3, 1823 . In 1825 he gave the official welcome speech for the French General Lafayette on his visit to the town of Warrenton. Otherwise Thomas Moore did not appear politically.
