The new People's Party Vienna (also ÖVP Vienna ) is the regional organization of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) in the state of Vienna . The party has its seat in Vienna's Lichtenfelsgasse .

Since the state elections in 2015 , the Vienna People's Party has had 7 seats in the Vienna state parliament and is in opposition there .

Since the National Council election in 2019, there have been 10 members of the Austrian National Council for the Vienna ÖVP .

In the state government and city senate of Ludwig , Markus Wölbitsch is not the executive city councilor.

Sub-organizations

The Vienna People's Party, like the federal ÖVP, is divided into sub-organizations, the so-called “leagues”. Membership in one of the sub-organizations of the ÖVP Vienna usually also means membership in the state and also in the federal party. There are regional organizations in Vienna for all six ÖVP associations:

ÖAAB Vienna

Bauernbund Vienna: The Bauernbund is the representation of farmers within the ÖVP. The Bauernbund Wien is currently chaired by the former member of the National Council, Franz Windisch .

Vienna ÖVP women: The Vienna women's movement has been representing the interests of women vis-à-vis the ÖVP state party since 1947. The chairwoman of the Vienna women's movement is the district leader of Josefstadt , Veronika Mickel-Göttfert .

Vienna Economic Association: The Wirtschaftsbund was founded in Vienna to represent the interests of entrepreneurs. Walter Ruck acts as chairman of the Vienna Economic Association.

Vienna Seniors' Association: The Seniors' Union is one of the most members of the ÖVP Vienna and represents the senior citizens within the Vienna People's Party. Its chairwoman is the member of the state parliament and councilor Ingrid Korosec .

Young ÖVP (JVP) Vienna: The Young People's Party Vienna represents young people and young adults until they transfer to one of the other ÖVP leagues. The current chairman of the JVP Vienna is the National Council member Nico Marchetti .
