Łętowo ( German  Lentag ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the rural community Piecki (German Peitschendorf ) in the Powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).

Geographical location

Łętowo is located in the southern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , 15 kilometers south of the district town of Mrągowo ( German  Sensburg ).

history

The small town - also known as the Ländtag around 1888 - originally only consisted of a large courtyard. Until 1945 it was a place of residence within the municipality of Zatzkowen (1938 to 1945 Eisenack , Polish : Czaszkowo ) in the Sensburg district in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1898 Lentag had 32 inhabitants and in 1905 it had 31.

When all of southern East Prussia was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war , Lentag was also affected. It was given the Polish name form "Łętowo" and is now a hamlet in the immediate vicinity (Polish : Częśź wsi ) to Piecki (whip village ) and thus also belongs to the group of Gmina Piecki in the powiat Mrągowski , until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia Voivodeship Masuria belonging.

church

Until 1945 Lentag belonged to the parish of the Evangelical Church of Aweyden in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , as well as to the Catholic St. Adalbert Church in Sensburg in what was then the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Łętowo is parish in the Protestant parish Nawiady , a branch parish of the parish Mrągowo in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland and in the parish church of Nawiady in the current Archdiocese of Warmia .

traffic
