history

The former forester's house Rostek was initially a residential area of the manor district Oberförsterei Kruttinnen and then until 1945 of the community Jägerswalde ( Polish Rosocha ) in the district of Sensburg in the administrative district of Gumbinnen (from 1905: administrative district of Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1905 the forester's house had four residents. On June 3 (officially confirmed on July 16) 1938, Rostek was renamed "Steinbruch" for political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign-sounding place names.

With the whole of southern East Prussia , the place came to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and received the Polish form of the name “Rostek”. Today the Leśniczówka Rostek (forestry settlement ) is again assigned to the neighboring village Rosocha (Jägerswalde) ("cześć wsi") and thus a place within the rural community Piecki (whip village ) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 the Voivodeship of Olsztyn , since then the Voivodeship Belonging to Warmia-Masuria .

church

Until 1945 the Forsthaus Rostek resp. Quarry in the Protestant church Alt Ukta in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union as well as in the Catholic St. Adalbert Church in Sensburg in the then diocese of Warmia .
