Kosowiec ( German  Kollogienen , also: Collogienen , 1926 to 1945 Modersohn ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . He belongs to the rural community Piecki ( German  Peitschendorf ) in the powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ).

Geographical location

Kosowiec is located south of the Großer Kollogiener See (also: Großer Kalgiener See , Polish Jezioro Kołowin ) in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 18 kilometers southeast of the district town of Mrągowo ( German  Sensburg ).

history

After 1785 Collogienen , after 1871 Colloginen and until 1926 Kollo Gienen called forester was founded around the 1550th It belonged to the state forest Kruttinnen ( Polish Krutyń ) until 1945 and was incorporated into the municipality of Zollernhöhe (until 1906 Czierspienten , Polish Cierzpięty ) on September 30, 1929 . On July 26, 1926 Kollogien was renamed Modersohn .

In 1945 the southern came Prussia in consequence of the war to Poland , and with it Modersohn. Today it is an Osada lesna ("forest settlement") within the rural community Piecki (whip village ) in powiat Mrągowski ( Sensburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship belongs.

Until 1945 Kollogien resp. Modersohn parish in the Protestant church of Aweyden in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union as well as in the Catholic St. Adalbert parish church in Sensburg in the then diocese of Warmia .

Today Kosowiec belongs to the evangelical parish church Mrągowo with the branch parish Nawiady in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , also to the catholic parish Nawiady in the present Archdiocese of Warmia in the Polish Catholic Church .

traffic

On the outskirts of Kosowiec the province road 610 runs , which connects Piecki (whip village ) via Ukta (Alt Ukta) with Ruciane-Nida (Rudczanny / Niedersee - Nieden) . Small side streets lead to here from the neighboring villages of Cierzpięty (Zollernhöhe , until 1906 Czierspienten) and Kołowin (Kollogien , 1938-1945 Kalgienen) . There is no train connection.
