Career

societies

In 2005, the son of a Ghanaian father and a German mother left the FSV Oppenheim , joined the youth training center of the 1. FSV Mainz 05 and went through the age groups up to the A-youth. On July 1, 2015, he was promoted to the second team of Mainz 05 . For this he had already been used; On June 1, 2014, he was substituted on for Devante Parker in the 88th minute in the second leg in the promotion round to the 3rd division in a 3-1 win at TSG Neustrelitz . On August 26, 2015 (5th matchday) he made his debut in the third division game in a 1-0 win in the away game against Preußen Münster , when he - again for Devante Parker - came on in the 87th minute.

He played his first competitive game for the first team on November 24, 2016 in the group game of the Europa League at AS Saint-Étienne . He came on in the 83rd minute; the game ended 0-0. On November 27, 2016 (12th matchday) he was used for the first time in the first team's encounter in the away game against Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga and scored the 1-0 goal in the 1: 0 defeat in the 25th. Minute. On December 21, 2016, he signed his first professional contract; this ran until 2021.

For the 2017/18 season Seydel joined Holstein Kiel on loan until the end of the season . After two goals in 25 second division games and the failure of Kiel in the promotion games against VfL Wolfsburg , he initially returned to Mainz 05. On August 7, 2018, Seydel was awarded again to Kiel until the end of the 2018/19 season , but only made six short appearances in the league and one cup game due to injury.

Due to the aftermath of his heel injury, the attacker could not be used in the first half of the following season . After his recovery, Mainz 05 loaned him to the second division SSV Jahn Regensburg until the end of the season . Due to regular employees such as Marco Grüttner , Jann George or Sebastian Stolze in front of him, the Hesse was only deployed nine times, including one from the beginning. Seydel played twice in the attack center, the remaining games on the left wing; in the 1: 4 defeat in the game against 1. FC Heidenheim he scored his only goal.

At the beginning of August 2020, Seydel moved to SV Darmstadt 98 and signed a two-year contract there.

National team

From 2011 to 2014 Seydel played international matches for the junior national teams in the U15, U16, U18 and U19 age groups. On November 9, 2017, he scored a goal for the 7-0 victory in his first game for the U21 national team in the European Championship qualifier in Baku against the Azerbaijani selection .
