history

In 1120 a castle was built by the Lords of Adelsdorf, which was destroyed during the Hussite Wars (1430) (→  Burgstall Adelsdorf ).

The place itself was first mentioned by name in 1132 in the foundation letter of the Heilsbronn monastery as "Adelsdorf". The monastery bought an estate there from the citizen Dietericus. The 2nd abbot Nicholas acquired the tithe in 1164. In 1451/56 the 22nd Abbot Kötzler had a bridge and a chapel built in Adelsdorf. In 1503 the monastery acquired another court from Konrad Deutsch. In total, the monastery acquired seven properties that were to be completely deserted in the Thirty Years War .

At the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties in Adelsdorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Bayreuth municipal bailiff's office in Markt Erlbach . The village and township government had the box office Neuhof held. The landlords were the Neuhof box office (1 yard, 1 half yard, 1 estate, 3 houses, 1 shepherd's house, 1 mill) and the Wilhermsdorf lordship (2 houses).

As part of the community edict, Adelsdorf was assigned to the Neuhof an der Zenn tax district formed in 1811 . It also belonged to the municipality of Neuhof an der Zenn, founded in 1813 . With the second community edict (1818) Adelsdorf broke up with Dietrichshof and formed a rural community. It was subordinate to the regional court of Markt Erlbach in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ipsheim Rent Office in the financial administration . Already on January 4, 1824, this was incorporated back into Neuhof.
