Alan Douglas Ruck (born July 1, 1956 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American actor .
Career
For the first time an international reputation was Ruck 1986 John Hughes High School comedy Ferris Bueller's Day , where he played the school friend Cameron Frye of Matthew Broderick . Although he was 29 years old at the time, he credibly played the role of the 18-year-old teenager. He had previously played in teen strips like Bad Boys - Small and Dangerous and Class , which is why he was assigned to the wider area of the so-called Brat Pack . In 1994 he had a supporting role in the action blockbuster Speed with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock . Later, larger roles followed in Twister , Cheaper by the Dozen and Star Trek: Generations , in which he at the beginning of John Harriman, the captain of the USS Enterprise B , embodied.
From 1996 to 2002 he played the cynical and misogynist Stuart on the sitcom Chaos City . Since then he has mainly appeared in various television series. Alan Ruck has played Leo Bloom in the Broadway version of The Producers since 2005 . At the start of the show and in the film, this role was played by Matthew Broderick.
Private life
Ruck attended Parma Senior High School in Parma , Ohio and was a graduate of the University of Illinois . In 1984 he married Claudia Stefany, with whom he has a daughter and a son. They divorced in 2005. Ruck has been married to actress Mireille Enos since January 4, 2008 , with whom he has a daughter (* 2010) and a son (* 2014).
