AC Miller

Albert C. "AC" Miller (born September 30, 1898 -  October 29, 1979 ) was an American politician . Between 1941 and 1945 he was lieutenant governor of the state of South Dakota .

Career

AC Miller lived in Kennebec , Lyman County . After studying law and being admitted to the bar, he began to work there in his profession. At the same time he embarked on a political career as a member of the Republican Party . Between 1933 and 1940 he sat as a member of the House of Representatives from South Dakota , whose speaker he had been since 1937.

In 1940 Miller was elected lieutenant governor of South Dakota alongside Harlan J. Bushfield . He held this office after a re-election between 1941 and 1945. He was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate . Since 1943 he served under the new Governor Merrell Q. Sharpe . In 1944 he ran unsuccessfully in his party's primary election for a seat in the US Senate . From 1961 to 1963 he held the office of Attorney General of his state. He died on October 29, 1979. His place of death is as little known as his place of birth.
