Alexandrowsk ( Russian Алекса́ндровск ) is a city in the Perm region (Russia) with 14,495 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).

geography

The city is located on the western flank of the Middle Urals , about 180 km northeast of the regional capital Perm on the Lytwa , a river in the river system of the Kama .

Alexandrowsk is the administrative center of the Alexandrowski Rajons and the seat of the municipality Alexandrowskoje gorodskoje posselenije, to which besides the city the settlements Lunjewka, Lytwenski and Taly as well as the villages Baschmaki, Malaja Wilwa and Ust-Lytwa belong.

The city is located on the Chusovoy - Kisel - Solikamsk railway line ( Kopi station ).

history

Alexandrowsk arose in 1783 in connection with the establishment of the first after the river Lytwinski Sawod mentioned ironworks , which in a row after the first name of the future owner the name Alexandrovsky Zavod got. In 1929 the place received the status of an urban-type settlement and in 1951 under the current name of municipal law.
