Swjosdny ( Russian Звёздный ) is a "closed" urban-type settlement in the Perm region in Russia with 9,151 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 30 km as the crow flies south of the regional administrative center Perm in the western foreland of the Urals . It is located on the Jug, a tributary of the left Sylwa tributary Babka .
Swjosdny is the only town in the district of the same name .
history
Though founded in the resort is considered in 1961, when there in the area of the since 1931 established military camp and -übungsplatzes Berschetski (after 3 km east village Berschet ) the 52nd Division of the Strategic Missile Forces first with R-16 - intercontinental ballistic missiles stationed and built an associated housing development has been.

At Berschet, 3 km to the east, the Jug station is located at km 1474 (from Moscow ) of the main line of the Trans-Siberian Railway, opened on this section in 1911 and electrified since 1963 . There is also a connection to the federal trunk road R242 from Perm to Yekaterinburg .
