Location of the municipality

Algarrobo is an Andalusian municipality east of Vélez-Málaga and south of Sayalonga . The municipal area extends to the Mediterranean Sea , with the main town, the village of Algarrobo , about 3.5 km from the coast. The suburb of Algarrobo Costa is located directly on the coast , other inhabited areas are Mezquitilla and Trayamar .
