The Hamburg Amateur Football League 1956/57 was the twelfth season of the highest amateur class in Hamburg . The Hamburg amateur league was a league level below the Northern Oberliga . It was held in a relay.

Compared to the previous season , Oberliga relegated Eimsbütteler TV was new to the amateur league, as did the three newly promoted Viktoria Wilhelmsburg (return after one season), Grün-Weiß Hamburg and TSV Duwo 08 (both in the amateur league for the first time).

TSV Uetersen was the winner . Together with the runner-up SC Sperber Hamburg , he took part in the promotion round to the Oberliga Nord . There Uetersen finished his group on the last place and Sperber Hamburg his group on the penultimate place, whereby both of them missed the ascent.

At the end of the season, the teams had to relegate to the last three places. The Lüneburg SK had previously belonged to the amateur league for a number of years (interrupted by a season in the Oberliga Nord). Viktoria Wilhelmsburg and TSV Duwo 08 had to leave the league after one season.
