The Football Association League Hamburg 1997/98 was the 53rd season of the highest amateur class of the Hamburg Football Association . The Association League Hamburg was a league level below the Oberliga Nord . It was held in a relay.

Compared to the previous season , Altona 93 and Barsbütteler SV came back after three years, SC Condor Hamburg and Raspo Elmshorn after one season from the Oberliga Nord came back into the association league, plus the two promoted TuS Dassendorf and Harburger SC (both in the highest Hamburg amateur class).

The winner was Raspo Elmshorn, who rose to the Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein league. The runner-up Glashütter SV qualified for the promotion games against the runner-up of the Schleswig-Holstein Association League and was defeated by 1. FC Phoenix Lübeck .

At the end of the season, the teams had to relegate to the last three places. Harburger SC had to leave the association league after one season, SV Börnsen after three years and Bramfelder SV after four years.
