Anton Breder

Anton "Toni" Breder (born November 18, 1925 in Saarlouis , † August 5, 1989 in Saarbrücken ) was a German athlete who competed for the Saarland .

Career

The athlete from SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken took in 1952 with the team of Saarland at the Olympic Games in Helsinki in part and was the flag bearer at the opening ceremony. In the long jump he clearly missed the qualifying distance of 7.20 m with 6.88 m and was eliminated.

Anton Breder was the managing director of the Saarland State Athletics Association from 1955 to 1968, and from 1961 to 1974 he was statistician for the State Association. Until 1989 he was the managing director of the state sports association for Saarland. The German Athletics Association honored Breder with the silver DLV needle in 1962, and in 1971 he received the DLV gold needle.

Anton Breder was married to the former sprinter Lotte Breder (birth name Lotte Hofmann). Both daughter Andrea Breder was sixth at the European Indoor Championships in 1982 in high jump.
