The Attel is an almost 40 km long left and west tributary of the Inn in the districts of Ebersberg and then Rosenheim in Upper Bavaria , which flows near the parish village of Attel von Wasserburg am Inn .

The Attel arises at about 513  m above sea level. NHN in Grafing , district Oexing from the confluence of the left Wieshamer Bach and the right Urtelbach. It initially flows eastwards and then south-eastwards through Grafing and Aßling , turns a little later northwards to Emmering and reaches Ramerberg via Pfaffing , where it turns southeast . A little later, at the Wasserburg hamlet of Elend , it takes up the Ebrach coming from the north and flows only about 400 m further east, after it has passed under the B 15 , at about 431  m above sea level. NHN in the Inn . To the left above the mouth, on the spur between the Ebrach and the Inn flowing away, stands the parish village of Attel, named after the river, in the far south of the urban area of Wasserburg am Inn . The Attel Abbey used to be located in the local area at the Spornspitze .

Catchment area

The Attel drains an area of ​​about 331 km² in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps in a curved eastward course to the Inn . Its catchment area borders in the northeast on that of the downward Inn tributary Nasenbach , after its mouth wedge in the east then one after the other on that of its upward tributary Katzbach in the east and Rott in the southeast. Beyond the southwestern watershed, the Glonn mainly competes with its Braunau tributary , it drains to the large Inn tributary, the Mangfall . In the west and north-west, the Isar catchment area borders consistently in the vast forest area with little water, especially the Ebersberg Forest .

    • Seeoner Bach , from the right and west in the north of Grafingen at the Heilmannsiedlung at about 518  m above sea level. NHN , 6.7 km and 19.8 km². Arises at about 552  m above sea level. NHN on the outskirts of Markt Kirchseeon a little north of the sports field at the beginning of the Kirchseeoner Moos . Significantly exceeds the official upper branch of the Wieshamer Bach in length and in the catchment area.
  • Urtelbach or Urtel , right upper reaches from the west, approx. 5.0 km and approx. 8.9 km². Arises at about 529  m above sea level. NHN north of the parish village of Pullenhofen from Markt Bruck im Westerfeld .
