About this picture
w

Basse-Allaine is a municipality in the Porrentruy district in the canton of Jura in Switzerland .

It was formed with effect from January 1, 2009 from the merger of Buix , Courtemaîche and Montignez .

Neighboring communities are Boncourt , Bure , Coeuve , Courchavon , Damphreux and Lugnez in the canton of Jura and Courcelles and Villars-le-Sec in France.

The name Basse-Allaine is derived from the Allaine river , which leaves Switzerland near Boncourt .

In June 2007, the municipality of Courchavon rose from the ongoing merger project - mainly for fiscal reasons. At the end of October 2007, the Courtemaîche parish refused to name the new parish Allancourt .
