Benjamin Thomas "Ben" Davies (born April 24, 1993 in Neath , Neath Port Talbot ) is a Welsh football player . The left-back is under contract with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and is a Welsh international .

Career

Davies began his career in the Swansea City Youth Department when he was eight . A year later he went to Denmark with his family for three years , during which time he played for Viborg FF . After his return to Swansea, he moved up from the A-Youth for the 2012/13 season and made his Premier League debut on August 25, 2012 in a 3-0 home win against West Ham United , when he was in the 84. Minute for Neil Taylor was substituted on. Davies scored his first goal on January 19, 2013 for a 1-0 lead in a 3-1 win over Stoke City . In February 2013, he won the English League Cup with the club after beating Bradford City 5-0 in the final . On October 12, 2012 he made his senior national team debut in the 3-0 defeat against Serbia . For the 2016 European Championships in France , Davies was appointed to the Welsh squad by national coach Chris Coleman . In the tournament, he was used in the first five games of his team over the full playing time. In the semifinals , which were lost 2-0 to Portugal , Davies was missing a yellow card .
