Bessik Serodinowitsch Kuduchow

Besik kudukhov ( Russian Бесик Серодинович Кудухов , scientific. Transliteration Besik Serodinovič Kuduchov * 15. August 1986 in Kvemo Zchiloni , South Ossetian AO , Soviet Union ; † 29. December 2013 in Armavir ) was a Russian wrestler . He was four-time world champion (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and winner of a bronze medal at the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing and a silver medal at the Olympic Games 2012 in London in free style in the bantamweight or in the featherweight .

Career

Kuduchow lived in Beslan , North Ossetia. He started there as a teenager at SC Alany with the wrestling. He concentrates fully on the free style. His trainers are Valentin Gozojew and Alexei Safronow. At a height of 1.64 m he weighed approx. 60 kg, but trained in the important competitions in the bantam weight (up to 55 kg body weight). In addition to wrestling, which was his source of income, he studied sports at the State University of North Ossetia. He was a member of the Russian national team of freestyle wrestlers from 2005. His international career began in 2003 when he won the European Junior Championship (Cadets) in Skopje in the weight class up to 50 kg, ahead of Isa Sari, Turkey and Adrian Mosa, Romania . In 2005 he was in Vilnius Junior World Champion in bantamweight. He defeated among others the American Henry Cejudo and in the final the Japanese Yasuhiro Inaba .

In 2006, Kuduchow took second place at a world cup tournament in Sari, Iran, in bantamweight behind Cuban René Montero . In the same year it was used in the bantamweight world championship for seniors in Guangzhou / People's Republic of China . There he defeated Pham Duc Khang from Vietnam , Vinad Kumar from India , Kim Hyo-Sub from South Korea and Namiq Abdullayev from Azerbaijan . In the final he was defeated by the experienced Bulgarian Radoslaw Velikow on points and became vice world champion.

In 2007 Kuduchow won the bantamweight competition at the very important international "Ivan Yarigin" tournament in Krasnoyarsk for Russian wrestlers . He won there in front of his compatriot Jamal Otarsultanov , Henry Cejudo and Nikolai Starostin, Russia. He then won his first international senior title at the 2007 European Championships in Sofia . He beat in Sofia Radoslaw Velikow in the first fight, then continued to win over Mihran Jaburjan, Armenia , Namig Sewchimow from Azerbaijan and Bessarion Gotschaschwili from Georgia . In the final battle, he didn't give German Marcel Ewald a chance either. He also proved that this success was no coincidence at the 2007 World Cup in Baku , where he also won the world championship title. On the way there he defeated Mikael Japaridze from Canada , Anil Kumar III from India, Freddy Serrano from Colombia , Andy Moreno from Cuba, Dilshod Mansurov from Uzbekistan and Bajaraagiin Naranbaatar from Mongolia .

In 2008 he won again at the "Ivan Yarigin" tournament in Krasnoyarsk in the bantamweight division. He relegated his compatriots Jamal Otarsultanov and Babazar Askerbijew and the American Victor Moreno to their places. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he defeated his final opponent from the 2007 World Cup Bajaraagiin Naranbaatar and then Dabbaghi ​​Souraki from Iran safely on points in the first fight . Then he was surprisingly defeated by the Japanese Tomohiro Matsunaga , against whom he found no attitude. In the battle for the bronze medal he managed to win again over Dilshod Mansurov.

In 2009 Kuduchow switched to featherweight because of weight problems. He made this jump smoothly. Although he had to be content with a third place behind Z Weltlimxan Hüseynov from Azerbaijan and Evgeni Chawilow from Ukraine at a world cup tournament at the beginning of the year in Tehran , in September 2009 he was fully integrated into the new weight class and won in Herning / Denmark with five wins the world title in featherweight. On the way there he defeated u. a. in the semifinals Wassyl Fedoryschyn from Ukraine just 2: 1 rounds at 3: 1 techn. Points. His victory in the final over Hüseynov was 2-0 rounds and 6-0 technically. Points safe. 2010 Kuduchow was in Moscow again world featherweight champion. In the decisive battles he defeated Sayed Mourad Mohammadi Pahnekalaei from Iran and Wassyl Fedoryschyn from Ukraine.

At the Russian championship 2011 Kuduchow won the featherweight title ahead of Opan Sat , Timur Pesterew and Rassul Murtsalijew. In Istanbul he won his fourth world title a few months later. In the decisive fights he defeated Ken'ichi Yumoto from Japan, Didier Païs from France and Franklin Gómez from Puerto Rico . At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , he started as a favorite because of his previous successes. He lived up to this position initially and defeated Yogeshwar Dutt from India , Masoud Mahmoud Esmaeilpoorjouybari from Iran and Ri Jong Myonk from North Korea . In the final he met the young Azerbaijanist Toğrul Əsgərov , against whom he lost on points. He therefore had to be satisfied with the silver medal.

Kuduchow was killed in a road accident on a highway between Krasnodar and Vladikavkaz at the end of December 2013 . In September 2014 he was inducted into the FILA International Wrestling Hall of Fame for his services to wrestling .

During follow-up tests in August 2016, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) found that Kuduchow had been doped with dehydrochloromethyl testosterone four years earlier . Two months later, the IOC said it had been informed of Kuduchov's death by the Russian Olympic Committee and that this was not known at the time of the decision to retest his doping samples. As a result, the IOC decided to immediately discontinue the disciplinary proceedings, as they cannot be carried out against the deceased. Kuduchow continues to be listed as a silver medalist. Indian bronze medalist Yogeshwar Dutt had previously stated that he would reject the silver medal anyway and wished it would stay with Kuduchov's family.
