Waremme ( Walloon Wareme , Dutch Borgworm ) is a small francophone Belgian town in the Wallonia region . It is located in the province of Liège and is the capital of the Belgian arrondissement of the same name . Waremme has 15,334 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2019) and an area of 31.04 km².
Liège is 23 kilometers (km) east-southeast, Namur 36 km southwest and the Belgian capital Brussels 64 km northwest.
Waremme has its own motorway exit on the Belgian A3 / E40 motorway , and another is 11 km south of Villers-le-Bouillet on the A15 / E42 . The city has a regional train station on the Brussels – Liège railway line ; Interregional express trains such as u. a. the Thalys on the connection Paris / Ostend - Liège - Aachen - Cologne . The nearest regional airport, Liège Airport, is near Bierset, near the city of Liège, and Brussels-Zaventem International Airport is near Brussels .
