Burgrest Baumgarten refers to an abandoned Niederungsburg in a small grove about 160 meters northwest of the historic wooden bridge on the western shore of the Schussen near Oberbaumgarten, a district of the municipality of Eriskirch in the Lake Constance district in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was probably built around 1180 on the site of a fortified farm and was mentioned in 1185. The castle, which was connected to Löwental Castle (Eichstegen-Löwental), was inhabited by Staufer servant families and was sold to the Bishop of Constance in 1271 with the reign of Baumgarten-Eriskirch and remained with Eriskirch until 1472 in the possession of the Bishops of Constance. Overgrown remains of the former castle complex have been preserved.
