The Altsummerau ruin is the ruin of a hilltop castle south of the Argen at 500  m above sea level. NN high Kapf near Rattenweiler belonging to the Langnau district of the city of Tettnang in the Lake Constance district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

The castle built by the Lords of Summerau was mentioned in 1152. Until the transition to the Bishops of Constance, it was the ancestral seat of the noble family named after it. It was renewed in the 13th century and destroyed during the Thirty Years War between 1633 and 1660.

investment

From the former castle are still relatively abundant remains of the keep from a secured vault and continue to numerous secured over their entire length of walls, d.
