Campo Verano
The Campo Verano (full name: Cimitero Comunale Monumentale Campo Verano or Cimitero del Verano for short , often simply Il Verano ) is the largest cemetery in the Italian capital, Rome .
It was laid out by Giuseppe Valadier from 1807 . The cemetery is currently divided into two sections, the Catholic and the Jewish cemetery . It also houses a memorial to the victims of the First World War . The Campo Verano is located near the Church of Saint Lawrence Outside the Walls near Via Tiburtina .
