Carunchio is an Italian commune with 631 inhabitants in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo . It is located about 56.5 kilometers south-southeast of Chieti and belongs to the Comunità montana Alto-Vastese . Carunchio is a very typical central Italian mountain village. The church is always on the top of the hill and houses are built around it.
