Pretoro (in the local dialect: Prëtèurë ) is an Italian municipality with 871 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo and is a member of the association I borghi più belli d'Italia (The Most Beautiful Places in Italy).

The community is about 14 kilometers from Chieti , belongs to the Comunità montana della Maielletta and borders directly on the Pescara . In the west is the Majella National Park .

The former Strada Statale 539 di Manopello (now a provincial road) runs through the municipality from Manoppello to Rapino . From here goes the former Strada Statale 614 della Maielletta to the center of the Majella National Park.
