San Vito Chietino is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 5320 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 24 kilometers southeast of Chieti, directly on the Adriatic Sea . The municipality is part of the Costa dei Trabocchi . The small river Feltrino crosses the municipality before flowing into the Adriatic Sea.

This is where Strada Statale 84 Frentana , which comes from the province of L'Aquila , ends . The Strada Statale 16 Adriatica and the Autostrada A14 from Bologna to Taranto also run through the municipality . The station of San Vito Chietino is the departure station of the Ferrovia Sangritana . The line to Castel di Sangro has now been closed. Today the station is served by the Adriatic Railway from Ancona to Lecce .
