Palombaro is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 976 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 25 kilometers south-southeast of Chieti in the Majella National Park and belongs to the Comunità Montana della Maielletta .

history

A late Hellenistic settlement in Abruzzo also took place in the municipality. In 1417 the Hungarians destroyed the Castrum Laromae .
