Castel Frentano is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 4371 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 23 kilometers southeast of Chieti .

history

Settlement remains can be traced back to the fourth century BC. The core of the settlement arose between the 10th and 11th centuries. The smaller villages in the municipality are first mentioned between 1100 and 1500.
