Cavriana is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3809 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Mantua in Lombardy . The municipality is located about 26 kilometers north-northwest of Mantua and borders directly on the province of Brescia . The factions are Gang, Campagnolo, Castelgrimaldo, San Giacomo and San Cassiano.

history

In Cavriana - in the districts gang - Corte Carpani - there are prehistoric pile dwellings , by the UNESCO among the World Heritage Sites were asked. Because of a serious accident between Guidizzolo and Cavriana, the 1957 Mille Miglia was canceled.
