Third round

The third round draw was held on February 24th on the University of Gloucestershire park campus . For this purpose, the teams were divided into two groups. Group A consisted of 14 second division teams and 4 third division teams, Group B consisted of the winners of the second round and 5 third division teams. Two teams from Group A, the Featherstone Rovers and the London Skolars, received a bye for the fourth round by drawing lots. The byes were necessary because the French teams had decided not to enter until the third round.

In each game, a team from Group A played against a team from Group B. Home rights were drawn at random for each game. The games took place from March 14th to 16th
