Curt Montague Schilling (born November 14, 1966 in Anchorage , Alaska ) is a retired American baseball player who last played for the Boston Red Sox in the position of pitcher . His greatest successes were winning the US baseball championships in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks and in 2004 and 2007 with the Boston Red Sox.

Career

Curt Schilling began his professional career in 1988 with the Baltimore Orioles , where he played until 1990. He then spent a year with the Houston Astros (1991) from where he then went to the Philadelphia Phillies (1992-2000). Between 2001 and 2003 he was under contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Since 2004 he played for the Boston Red Sox. His last game in the MLB was Game 2 of the 2007 World Series , a win against the Colorado Rockies . Persistent problems in the right shoulder prevented a use in the 2008 season. On March 23, 2009 Schilling announced the end of his playing career.

Game publisher

In 1999 Curt Schilling founded the game publisher Multi-Man Publishing to ensure the continued existence and further development of the game Advanced Squad Leader .

Political opinions

During the election campaign of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election , Schilling was one of Trump's supporters. He gained media attention when he wore a Trump supporter's T-shirt with the words "Tree.Rope.Journalist. Assembly Recquired "( Tree. Rope. Journalist. Needs to be connected ). Commentators, who saw it as a call for lynching , criticized this praise. Schilling is considered a supporter of QAnon .
