Davis County is a county in the state of Utah in the United States . In 2009, there were an estimated 300,827 people in Davis County. The county seat is Farmington .

According to the US Census Bureau, Davis County covers an area of 1,641 square kilometers, of which 853 square kilometers are water. It is bordered in a clockwise direction by the following counties: Weber County , Morgan County , Salt Lake County, and Tooele Counties .
The county is part of the Ogden-Clearfield Metropolitan Area , but only geographically. The southern half of the county has more economic ties to Salt Lake City than to Ogden . There is a large theme park in Farmington . Davis County is halfway between the Great Salt Lake to the west and the Wasatch Range to the east. The biggest place is Layton .
history
Davis County was founded in 1852. It was named after Daniel C. Davis, a captain in a Mormon battalion.

Davis County had a population of 238,994 as of the 2000 census . There were 71,201 households and 59,239 families. The population density was 303 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 92.26% White, 1.09% African American, 0.58% Native American, 1.53% Asian, 0.27% Pacific Islander, and 2.30% other races Groups; 1.97% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 5.42% of the population.
Of the 71,201 households, 49.50% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 70.80% were married couples living together, 9.20% were single mothers. 16.80% were not families. 13.60% are single households and 4.60% have someone living there who is 65 years of age or over. The average household size was 3.31 and the average family size was 3.67.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 35.10% residents under 18 years of age, 12.20% between 18 and 24 years of age, 28.20% between 25 and 44 years of age, 17.10% between 45 and 64 years of age 7.30% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 27 years. For every 100 females there were 100.90 males, for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 98.50 males.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 53,726 , and the median income for a family is $ 58,329. Males had a median income of $ 40,913 versus $ 25,904 for females. The per capita income was $ 19,506. 5.10% of the population and 4.00% of families are below the poverty line. 5.90% of these were under 18 years of age and 4.10% were 65 years of age or older.
