Dvorníky (until 1927 Slovak "Uďvarnok"; Hungarian Udvarnok ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia , with a population of 2,063 (as of December 31, 2019), which for Okres Hlohovec of, part Trnavský kraj belongs.
geography
The municipality is located in the Danube hill country in the lower Waag valley on the Jarčie stream , a left tributary of the Waag, 10 kilometers south of Hlohovec and 11 kilometers north of Sereď . There are several vineyards in the municipality.
The municipality is divided into parts of the municipality Dvorníky and Posádka (incorporated in 1971, Hungarian 1907 to 1913 Szolgagyőr - previously Poszátka ).
history
Dvorníky was first mentioned in writing in 1247 as Vduornuc . The place initially belonged to the estate of Neutra Castle , later to Freistadt Castle. The main occupation of the inhabitants was and is agriculture. Viticulture was also important in the past.
The hamlet of Posádka is recorded for the first time in 1217 and was the site of the Szolgagyőr Castle , which served to protect a ford across the Váh. However, the castle no longer exists since the end of the 13th century.
