Jalšové (until 1927 Slovak and "Jalšov"; German Jalschowe , Hungarian Jalsó ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 487 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Hlohovec of, part kraj Trnavský heard.
geography
The village is located on the left bank of the Váh , between the western slope of the Považský Inovec Mountains and the Váh foothills of the Slovakian Danube lowlands . The center of the village is at an altitude of 180 m nm and is ten kilometers from Hlohovec and Piešťany .
Neighboring municipalities are Sokolovce in the north, Svrbice in the northeast, Horné Otrokovce in the east, Horné Trhovište in the southeast, Tepličky in the south, Koplotovce in the southwest and Drahovce in the west.
history
Jalšové was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1352 as Wlseu and belonged to the estate of the castle of Freistadl (today Hlohovec). The main sources of income for the inhabitants were home crafts, agriculture and viticulture.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Jalšové had 495 inhabitants, 478 of whom were Slovaks and one Bulgarian and one German. 15 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity. 389 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, six residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident each to the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Greek Catholic Church. 47 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination was not determined for 50 inhabitants.
