Ratkovce (German Rattkowetz , Hungarian Ratkóc ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 345 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Hlohovec of, part kraj Trnavský heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Trnavská pahorkatina (part of the Danube Hills ) on the right bank of the Dudváh . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 155 m nm and is 12 kilometers from Hlohovec and 15 kilometers from Trnava .
Neighboring municipalities are Pečeňady in the north, Červeník in the east, Žlkovce in the south and southwest, and Jaslovské Bohunice and Veľké Kostoľany in the northwest.
history
According to archaeological investigations, there was a Neolithic settlement in today's municipal area, as well as settlements of the Bandkeramischen culture and the Lengyel culture as well as a settlement and burial site from the time of the Moravian Empire .
Ratkovce was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1388 as the Ratkolch and was then part of the Čachtice Castle estate . Later the village was owned by the Tyrnau parish or the chapter. The village was and is still characterized by agriculture.
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
From 1974 to 1990 Ratkovce was part of the Žlkovce municipality.
population
According to the 2011 census, Ratkovce had 326 inhabitants, including 313 Slovaks, three Roma, two Magyars and one Czech. Seven residents gave no information in this regard. 275 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 15 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, two residents each to the Seventh-day Adventists and the Greek Catholic Church, as well as one resident each to the Baha'itum and one to the Baptists; one resident professed a different denomination. 17 residents were without a denomination and the denomination of 12 residents was not determined.
