Pastukhov (Hungarian Nyitrapásztó - until 1907 Pásztó ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 965 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Hlohovec , part of kraj Trnavský belongs.

The municipality is located in the hilly Nitrianska pahorkatina (part of the Slovak Danube lowlands ) between the river valleys of Waag and Nitra at the source of the Blatina brook . The center of the village is at an altitude of 200  m nm and is nine kilometers from Hlohovec and 26 kilometers from Nitra .

history

Pastuchov was first mentioned in writing as Paztwh in 1276 . With the exception of the years from 1328 to 1363, it belonged to the estate of Freistadt . The population was and is predominantly employed in agriculture.
