Tekolďany (Hungarian Tököld ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 134 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Hlohovec of, part kraj Trnavský heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the western part of the Nitrianska pahorkatina (part of the Danube Hills ) on the Tekoldiansky creek , not far from the Považský Inovec mountains . The town center is at an altitude of 210 m nm and is 14 kilometers from Hlohovec .
Neighboring municipalities are Orešany in the north, Veľké Ripňany in the east, Merašice and Dolné Otrokovce in the southeast and Horné Otrokovce in the southwest and west.
history
The first settlement of today's municipality took place in the Neolithic Age.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1310 as Tekulchen and was then owned by the Hont-Pázmány family . In the later centuries (until the abolition of serfdom in 1848) the village was part of the estate of the castle in the nearby Freistadl (today Hlohovec).
Until 1918, the place in Neutra County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
From 1975 to 1990 Tekolďany was part of the Horné Otrokovce municipality.
population
According to the 2011 census, Tekolďany had 149 inhabitants, including 147 Slovaks and one Czech. One resident gave no information about ethnicity. 141 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, four residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Orthodox Church. One resident had no denomination and the denomination was not determined for two residents.
