history

The Town of Eastbrook organized itself from Township No. 15 Middle Division, Bingham's Penobscot Purchase (T15 MD BPP). Settlement of the area started in 1800. One of the first settlers was Joseph Parsons, who also built the first mill and the first house. His son was the first child born in the town. The name Eastbrook is derived from the Eastbrook branch of Union River that flows through the area.

Eastbrook got land from neighboring Waltham in 1872.
