Osborn is centrally located in Hancock County. A branch of the Union River flows south through the town. Spectacle Pond is located in the south-west of the Town area . The surface is rather flat and the highest point is the 198 m high Birch Hill .

history
Osborn was named Plantation No. 21 organized on October 23, 1840 to give residents the right to vote. This was confirmed by the government in 1895. The name was changed to Osborn Plantation on April 4, 1923 . Previously, the area was called Township No. 21 Middle Division, Bingham's Penobscot Purchase (T21 MD BPP) .
Osborn was organized as a town on February 11, 1976.
