Empire Airlines is an American airline based in Hayden , Idaho .
history
Empire Airlines was founded in 1977 under the name Clearwater Flying Service . After the company bought West Aire in 1980 and Executive Aviation a year later , the name was changed to Empire Airways . At this time, the company used, among other things, Cessna 207 on behalf of Federal Express on cargo flights. In 1989 the company took over Pacific Alaska . In 1990 the company changed its name to Empire Airlines.
Destinations
Empire Airlines flies scheduled passenger flights exclusively to Hawaii and regular cargo flights , especially in the northeast of America. The only international destination is Vancouver , Canada for cargo.

Incidents
Empire Airlines has recorded five incidents in its history (all during flights on behalf of FedEx), two of which were fatal:
- On January 11, 1995, a Cessna 208 B had an accident en route from Flagstaff Pulliam Airport to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport shortly after take-off due to a pilot's error. The pilot was killed.
- On October 9, 2000, a Cessna 208B had an accident en route from Bellingham Airport to Orcas Island Airfield on Lummi Island . The pilot was killed.
- The last incident was Flight 8284, in which on January 27, 2009 an ATR 42-300 crashed while approaching the Fort Worth Alliance and caught fire, the crew was injured.
